The Opportunity
The Brand Strategist is intended to lead and execute the network’s social media strategy. They will be responsible for managing the organization’s social media presence across platforms, showcasing student success, promoting recruitment initiatives, highlighting school events, and strengthening the brand reputation of the network. This role will collaborate closely with school leaders, recruitment teams, and the communications department to ensure that the network’s mission, culture, and impact are effectively represented online.
Social Media Strategy
•
Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy for the network and its seven campuses.
•
Manage official social media channels including Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube.
•
Create monthly content calendars aligned with recruitment cycles, school events, and academic milestones.
•
Ensure messaging aligns with the brand identity and mission of United Charter High Schools.
Content Creation
•
Capture and produce high-quality photo, video, and graphic content that highlights student achievements, classroom learning, college readiness, and community engagement.
•
Write engaging captions, stories, and posts that reflect the voice of the organization.
•
Produce short-form video content optimized for platforms such as TikTok and Instagram Reels.
Brand Management
•
Maintain consistent branding across all social media platforms.
•
Ensure all posts reflect the professionalism and educational mission of the network.
•
Monitor online reputation and respond to comments or inquiries as appropriate.
Recruitment and Marketing Support
•
Partner with the Talent Acquisition team to promote job opportunities and teacher recruitment campaigns.
•
Support student enrollment marketing initiatives.
•
Promote career fairs, open houses, and major network events.
Analytics and Performance Tracking
•
Track and analyze key social media metrics including engagement, reach, follower growth, and campaign performance.
•
Prepare monthly analytics reports for the central office leadership team.
•
Use data to optimize content strategy and audience engagement.
Collaboration with Schools
•
Work with principals and school staff to highlight events, achievements, and student stories.
•
Provide guidance and best practices to campus-based staff managing school-level social media accounts.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field.3–5 years of experience managing professional social media accounts.Strong writing, storytelling, and content creation skills.Experience with social media analytics tools.Proficiency in tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design software.Ability to capture and edit video content.
Preferred
Experience working in education, nonprofit, or mission-driven organizations.Experience supporting recruitment marketing or employer branding.Familiarity with NYC charter schools or public education systems.

Salary $85,000- $100,000
