The opportunity
Unity (NYSE: U) is seeking a Senior Director, FP&A to support strategic financial planning and analysis and drive insights that will shape our business decision for our expanding advertising business unit. Reporting to the VP of Finance, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial planning and analysis function, focus on long-range planning, the annual operating plan, quarterly forecasts, and monthly financial close processes. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in advertising metrics such as ad load, fill rates, user growth, and platform mix.
What you'll be doing
β’ Serve as the senior finance business partner to the GM/VP of Ads and executive leadership.
β’ Lead long-range planning, annual operating planning, quarterly forecasts, and monthly close processes for the Ads BU.
β’ Translate monetization strategy, product roadmaps, and go-to-market initiatives into financial impact models.
β’ Provide scenario modeling around pricing, ad load, fill rates, demand, CPM trends, user growth, and platform mix.
β’ Drive KPI reporting across key Ads metrics: revenue, ARPDAU, impressions, CPMs, fill rate, LTV/CAC, and yield optimization.
β’ Partner with Product, Sales, Data Science, and Revenue Operations to analyze performance drivers and optimize monetization strategies.
β’ Ensure alignment with public company reporting requirements and revenue recognition standards.
β’ Deliver executive-level narratives explaining financial results and outlook.
β’ Lead and develop a high-performing FP&A team supporting Ads.
β’ Establish scalable forecasting, automation, and data processes.
β’ Drive continuous improvement across systems, modeling sophistication, and cross-functional collaboration.
β’ Mentor and grow finance talent within the organization.
What we're looking for
β’ Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
β’ Minimum fifteen (15) years of experience in financial planning and analysis, with at least five (5) years in a leadership role within the advertising or digital media sector.
β’ Deep understanding of advertising metrics such as ad load, fill rates, user growth, and platform mix.
β’ Proven experience in developing financial models and forecasts that drive strategic decision-making.
β’ Strong analytical skills with a results-oriented approach to problem-solving.
β’ Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
β’ Proficient in financial software and tools, with advanced Excel and data analysis capabilities.
