Visual Designer
Department: Marketing
Location: Scotts Valley, CA (Hybrid) or Remote (United States only)
We are looking for a Visual Designer to work with our team. If you are passionate about music and want to take part in producing the creative that will inspire musicians and professionals across the world β with the cachet and history of a brand as strong as Universal Audioβs β then we look forward to hearing from you.
You will be designing a wide variety of assets across digital and print media. To be successful in this position, youβll be adept at taking art direction and feedback as well as occasionally independently ideating and delivering creative ideas. You must demonstrate an ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining an amazing attention to detail.
Responsibilities
β’ Create layouts and graphics that reinforce the brandβs style and voice throughout its visual touchpoints.
β’ Create mockups for web pages and emails.
β’ Design icons, illustrations, and infographics.
β’ Ideate and design promotional themes, including deliverables across, web, email, and social media
β’ Create and organize production assets.
β’ Support the advertising and social teams by creating a variety of ad formats and sizes for different mediums.
β’ Work with the content team on a variety of initiatives: from virtual live events to tutorial videos, blog posts, product launches, and more.
β’ Participate in weekly critique, review, and planning meetings.
Qualifications
β’ βA strong eye for visual composition, layout, and typography.
β’ Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
β’ Portfolio showcasing your best design work required to apply.
β’ The ability to handle multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
β’ The ability to effectively take direction and collaborate with creative and art directors, product owners, and other members of the team.
β’ Able to give and receive constructive criticism.
β’ Understanding of marketing, production, website design, corporate identity, advertisements, and multimedia design.
β’ Proficiency with design software: Adobe CC (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Figma, Keynote, Google Suite.
β’ Basic coding knowledge (HTML, CSS), to ensure effective handoff to developers.
β’ After Effects, motion design, video editing, or 3D experience is a plus.
β’ Familiarity with Universal Audioβs products or music industry knowledge is a plus.
Education/Experience
β’ Bachelorβs degree in graphic design or related field or equivalent work experience.
β’ 2-4 years in-house or agency experience.
UA Salary Range of Pay: $85,000 - $95,000
Base salary/hourly rate of pay will be based on the cost of labor for the city/state in which the new hire resides, at the time of hire.
