About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our Vendor Risk Management team at Vanta. In this role, you will own the critical backend services and infrastructure that power our external data scanning and risk analysis capabilities, helping businesses earn and prove trust through continuous security monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
- →Design, build, and operate backend services for large-scale, automated attack surface analysis
- →Build distributed systems for asset discovery and vulnerability scanning
- →Engineer monitoring and alerting systems for security data pipeline reliability
- →Collaborate with security researchers to deploy new scanning techniques
- →Lead complex projects with multiple stakeholders
- →Set technical direction for critical surface areas
Requirements
- ✓At least 8 years of industry experience
- ✓Experience with infrastructure, AWS services, and scaling platforms
- ✓Thoughtful approach to trade-offs with good product sense
- ✓Technical leadership experience for teams or complex projects
- ✓Experience with greenfield projects
- ✓Willingness to use AI responsibly to improve efficiency
