About the Role
Vast is seeking a Staff Software Engineer, iOS to support the development of systems for artificial-gravity human-rated space stations. This role involves designing, building, and testing iOS native applications in Swift for crew user interfaces in Low Earth Orbit aboard Haven-1.
Key Responsibilities
- βDevelop and optimize software codebases and systems for crew devices on Vast spacecraft
- βMentor junior software engineers to build a strong team
- βManage the full software lifecycle, including deployment, configuration, maintenance, and upgrades
- βConfigure and optimize automated testing and deployment systems
- βEnsure software quality and reliability through testing and security measures
Requirements
- βBachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related engineering discipline
- β7+ years of software development experience
- β4+ years of iOS application development experience (Objective-C/C++ & Swift)
- βWillingness to work overtime or weekends for critical mission milestones
