About the Role
We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join Vetcove and help modernize the future of veterinary software. This role involves designing, building, and improving tools that help veterinary clinics streamline operations and deliver exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- →Lead the design, architecture, and delivery of complex product initiatives across web and mobile platforms
- →Build and enhance React and React Native applications used by veterinary professionals and industry partners
- →Set engineering standards, drive code quality, and ensure strong test coverage
- →Develop scalable components and architectural patterns
- →Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance
- →Partner with engineering leadership and stakeholders to define and execute solutions
- →Design features and data models with accuracy, security, and performance in mind
- →Troubleshoot complex issues and improve system performance
Requirements
- ✓8+ years of professional software engineering experience
- ✓Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- ✓Deep expertise in modern programming languages and web frameworks
- ✓Strong proficiency in JavaScript and React
- ✓Proven ability to design scalable systems and APIs
- ✓Experience with relational databases and query optimization
- ✓Consistent practice of writing well-tested, maintainable code
- ✓Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and lead technical decisions
- ✓Excellent communication skills
- ✓Collaborative and adaptable in fast-paced environments
