About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to join Wabtec Bus Solutions, a team driving innovation in Transit Bus & Rail systems. This role involves driving design and development focused on embedded software development for various products, controls, and sensors.
Key Responsibilities
- →Design and develop embedded software systems, including controllers and sensors, per customer and technical requirements
- →Make design decisions to optimize performance, cost, and manufacturability and contribute to innovation, patents, or process improvement
- →Support embedded software designs from concept through production launch
- →Participate in DFMEA sessions and validation planning and follow APQP/NPD processes to ensure successful product launches
- →Lead or support root cause analysis and corrective actions for software and electrical issues
- →Evaluate specifications and performance needs to deliver cost-effective solutions and architect scalable, maintainable software for real-time embedded systems
Requirements
- ✓Bachelor’s degree in computer or software engineering (master’s preferred; ABET accredited)
- ✓6+ years of relevant experience and basic project management skills and ability to lead engineering based small sized projects or parts of projects
- ✓Working knowledge of embedded software design of systems and components including engineering & manufacturing principles, practices, and procedures
- ✓Working knowledge in APQP/NPD Stage Gate, DFMEA, RCA/8D’s, & Engineering Analysis
- ✓Deep knowledge in embedded architecture/systems, safety standards, performance optimization, & system integration
- ✓Proficiency in Linux, C/C++, RTOS, and embedded debugging tools and familiarity with C#, python, JavaScript, HTML, & react
- ✓Strong organizational and time management skills and ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
