About the Role
We are looking for a Software Engineer to join Wave’s backend platform team. You will design, build, and maintain Wave’s backend ecosystem and reusable software stack, defining the Golden Path for frameworks and communication.
Key Responsibilities
- →Standardize core components for web frameworks, container images, and data gateways
- →Streamline system communication by architecting frameworks for real-time and background messaging
- →Build developer-centric wrappers for common components
- →Deliver and enhance code while reducing technical debt
- →Evaluate technical approaches by proposing multiple solutions and researching trade-offs
- →Resolve technical ambiguity through independent research and outreach
Requirements
- ✓3+ years of professional experience in backend engineering
- ✓Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- ✓Experience in building and maintaining reusable software libraries and frameworks
- ✓Proficiency in inter-service communication methods like Kafka, SQS, and gRPC
- ✓Technical competency with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS-native services
- ✓Knowledge of GraphQL gateways and developer-first tools
- ✓Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- ✓This role includes a weekly on-call rotation.
