About the Role
We are seeking a Dean of Student Life to lead after-school, summer, enrichment, and athletic programs at DREAM Charter Schools. This role is critical to ensuring positive student outcomes and culture, reporting directly to the school Principal and focusing on extended-day, extended-year programming.
Key Responsibilities
- →Lead execution of after-school, summer, and school-day enrichment, recess, and athletic programs
- →Conduct outreach and manage enrollment processes for after-school and summer programs
- →Provide professional development, coaching, and feedback to staff in enrichment programming
- →Serve as instructional coach for enrichment teachers and review lesson plans
- →Supervise Assistant Dean of Student Life and design site-level structures and protocols
- →Partner with Talent team to recruit, hire, and onboard staff
- →Manage competitive athletics programming for Middle School
- →Collaborate with School Leadership Team to align school-day and extended programming
- →Develop systems for data reporting and compliance with grant requirements
- →Hire and manage part-time staff for after-school, summer, and athletics
Requirements
- ✓Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in education, social work, youth development or related field
- ✓At least 5 years of experience leading and managing youth development programming
- ✓At least 3 years of people leadership and management experience
- ✓Experience working in K-12 Charter Schools preferred
- ✓Expertise in managing entry-level staff or working with high-school and college-aged students
- ✓Ability to use data-driven practices to improve youth outcomes
- ✓Strong understanding of SEL competency-building and its impact on academic achievement
- ✓Knowledge of best practices in school classroom management and instructional strategies
- ✓Ability to manage behaviors using positive youth-development principles
- ✓Strong belief in the mission and values of DREAM
- ✓Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills
- ✓Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
