About the Role
We are looking for a Distributed Compute Engineer to join Hudson River Trading's research cluster, where all trading strategies are generated. This role involves developing and improving technical solutions to make research as easy and efficient as possible in a user-facing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- →Ensure HRT’s research environment is best in class, with a focus on user workloads
- →Maintain and improve resource scheduling, data caching, and job monitoring to make research easy, fast, and efficient
- →Optimize workloads at both user and infrastructure levels
- →Share metrics and real-time information with users
- →Understand users' specific technical needs
- →Set technical direction for the platform and take ownership of the software infrastructure
Requirements
- ✓Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
- ✓Strong C++ expertise (daily use preferred)
- ✓Python familiarity preferred
- ✓Experience collaborating with quantitative researchers and traders
- ✓Great communication capabilities
- ✓Superior design, debugging, and problem-solving skills
- ✓Knowledge of UNIX operating systems, system/processor performance, and network communication
