π» ROLE
As a Marketing Manager at Whatnot, you will own the growth of a product category in the DACH Market, while helping shape how we scale categories across Europe. Youβll immerse yourself in local communities and cultural dynamics, design campaigns that resonate authentically, and drive acquisition and retention in your market. In this role, you will:
- Own buyer acquisition for your category in the DACH Market, developing campaigns and events that generate community buzz and grow demand on Whatnot
- Build and manage a roster of influencers and creators, treating influencer marketing as a core performance channel. Youβll identify, onboard, and manage partners to drive first-time buyers at competitive CAC β this is not a brand awareness play
- Develop high-performing content in partnership with our creative team for paid campaigns, ensuring ads deliver exceptional conversion and first-time buyer growth.
- Lead the planning and execution of digital and in-person events, partnering with sellers and internal teams to deliver programs that build awareness and drive core supply and demand metrics in the DACH Market
- Measure the effectiveness of marketing initiatives, using data to refine strategy, scale what works into EU-wide playbooks, and partner with US counterparts to adapt proven approaches for the DACH market
We offer flexibility to work from home or from one of our global office hubs, and we value in-person time for planning, problem-solving, and connection. Team members in this role must live within commuting distance of our Berlin, Germany hub.
π YOU
Weβre looking for a marketer with the experience and drive to take a category from zero to one in the DACH Market, using influencer, paid, and event marketing as growth engines.
- Experience: 5β12 years in consumer or category marketing, ideally in fast-paced, high-growth environments. Youβve seen excellent marketing first-hand and applied those lessons to drive measurable results
- Influencer marketing expertise: Proven track record building and managing a roster of influencers and creators as a performance channel, driving first-time buyers at competitive CAC
- Creative & performance content: Ability to develop and deliver content that performs in paid ads and fuels acquisition at scale
- Event marketing: Experience planning and executing digital and in-person events that deliver measurable growth and community engagement
- Fluent in German & English (written & spoken) with a deep understanding of DACH market cultural and community dynamics
- Executional excellence & data-driven mindset: Proven ability to fully own end-to-end campaigns, track KPIs, and optimise based on insights. SQL knowledge is a plus
- Mindset: Low ego, adaptable, and comfortable taking on unstructured challenges. You thrive in fast-moving environments and arenβt afraid to roll up your sleeves
- Nice to have: passion for creator communities or categories that thrive on Whatnot (e.g., fashion, collectibles, sneakers), and prior experience working in marketplaces
