About the Role
We are looking for a Distributed Systems Engineer to join the Horizon team at Xero. This role focuses on building and refactoring complex distributed systems to ensure scalability and high performance, directly influencing how we manage eventing and webhooks across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- →Design and implement distributed systems using Apache Kafka and Confluent Cloud
- →Roll out Postgres to enhance eventing strategy and data discovery capabilities
- →Finalize webhooks implementations and build technical strategy for upcoming eventing architecture
- →Utilize Terraform, AWS, C#, and TypeScript to drive engineering enablement
Requirements
- ✓Deep understanding of system design and architectural patterns
- ✓Experience with Kafka or similar event-driven architectures
- ✓Solid grasp of infrastructure as code using Terraform
- ✓Experience navigating AWS environments
- ✓Comfortable implementing solutions in C# or TypeScript
- ✓Passion for technical excellence and a growth mindset
