About the Role
Zoox is transforming transportation by building autonomous robotaxis. The Robot Data Platform team manages the systems that handle data from Zoox’s autonomous vehicle fleet, ingesting, storing, and serving hundreds of petabytes of vehicle data to support machine learning, data science, and safety analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- →Take end-to-end ownership of scalable systems for collecting, cataloging, storing, and processing petabytes of vehicle data
- →Develop and scale robust log data storage solutions using AWS S3 and distributed systems
- →Drive technical design for features, creating detailed design documents and contributing to team discussions
- →Implement monitoring, alerting, and operational tooling for data pipelines
- →Troubleshoot production issues in data ingestion and storage systems
Requirements
- ✓5+ years of software engineering experience in building large-scale distributed cloud storage systems
- ✓Proficiency in Python and C++ with emphasis on clean, maintainable code
- ✓Extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred), including S3, Aurora, and EC2
- ✓Experience with large-scale data ingestion and storage systems handling petabytes of data
- ✓Ability to take full ownership of project components from implementation through production
