About the Role
We are looking for an Engineering Manager to join Zopa, a peer-to-peer lending company that launched Zopa Bank in 2020. This role involves shaping how people grow, leading teams of engineers working on products used by millions of customers.
Key Responsibilities
- →Shape how people grow and lead teams of talented engineers
- →Help raise the bar for how we deliver, not just what we ship
- →Work closely with Product and other partners to plan ahead, navigate trade offs, and tackle challenges early
- →Drive change beyond formal authority by building coalitions and shaping thinking across functions
- →Bring clarity by making decisions, setting priorities, and helping teams move together
- →Use customer feedback and service data to spot opportunities, improve quality and reliability
Requirements
- ✓Experience as an Engineering Manager with a natural ability to own outcomes
- ✓Self-driven and proactive approach to work
- ✓Strong opinions held thoughtfully, with the ability to challenge ideas and influence decisions
- ✓Ability to learn quickly from mistakes and reflect openly on what didn’t work
- ✓Proven experience supporting engineers’ development, performance and progression
- ✓Strong technical background with experience in building, running, and improving production systems
- ✓Clear and empathetic communication skills with engineers, product partners, and stakeholders
