About the Role We are seeking an experienced Azure Architect to join our team in the Energy/Oil & Gas sector. This role involves designing and implementing enterprise Azure architectures, cloud roadmaps, and secure IT/OT connectivity solutions. Key Responsibilities • Define enterprise Azure architecture, reference architectures, and multi-year cloud roadmaps • Design Azure landing zones, management groups, subscriptions, hub-and-spoke networking, and Virtual WAN • Architect OSDU-based platforms, Microsoft Energy Data Services, and subsurface/seismic data environments • Design Azure infrastructure for SAP S/4HANA, mission-critical applications, high availability, and disaster recovery • Build industrial data platforms using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse, Microsoft Fabric, and AVEVA PI • Design secure IT/OT connectivity, network segmentation, DMZ patterns, and edge solutions for remote and offshore sites • Implement security using Microsoft Entra ID, Defender for Cloud, Key Vault, private endpoints, and Zero Trust principles • Establish Infrastructure as Code standards using Terraform/Bicep and CI/CD using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions • Drive FinOps, observability, reliability, architecture governance, and technical leadership Requirements • 12–16 years of overall IT infrastructure/cloud engineering experience • 8+ years of hands-on Azure architecture experience • 3+ years in Oil & Gas, Energy, Utilities, Mining, or other asset-heavy industries • Experience with Azure landing zones, ExpressRoute, VPN, networking, compute, storage, and identity • Enterprise cloud migrations, HA/DR, and mission-critical workload architecture • Terraform and/or Bicep, CI/CD, and policy-as-code • IT/OT security, Purdue Model, network segmentation, and IEC 62443 concepts • Strong stakeholder management and architecture governance skills • Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305) or equivalent expertise
