About the Role We are looking for a Backend & Agent Engineer to join our team for a Medicaid Record-to-Report (R2R) Agentic Automation project. This role focuses on developing scalable Python backend services and building AI agents for reconciliation, exception investigation, variance analysis, and financial close processes. Key Responsibilities • Develop scalable Python backend services, REST APIs, and enterprise integration components • Build and orchestrate AI agents for reconciliation, exception investigation, variance analysis, and financial close processes • Implement agent state management, routing, tool/function calling, retries, checkpoints, and failure recovery • Integrate AI agents with enterprise data, SQL databases, APIs, rules engines, and governed tools • Develop human-in-the-loop review and approval workflows • Design prompts, grounded context, structured outputs, and evidence-backed agent responses • Build automated unit, API, integration, regression, and agent evaluation tests • Implement logging, tracing, monitoring, security, and production-readiness controls • Support CI/CD, deployment, configuration, and production troubleshooting Requirements • Strong Python and SQL development experience • FastAPI or equivalent Python API framework • REST APIs and microservices architecture • Hands-on AI/LLM and Agentic AI knowledge • Agent orchestration and state management • Prompt engineering and tool/function calling • RAG and enterprise data integration • Workflow orchestration and exception handling • Automated testing, CI/CD, and observability • IAM/RBAC, secrets management, encryption, and secure API design Healthcare / Medicaid Domain Knowledge • Medicaid Enrollment & Eligibility • Capitation & Reconciliation • Claims & Encounters • Healthcare Transactions: 834, 820, 837, 835 • Record-to-Report (R2R) / Financial Close • HIPAA and PHI/PII Security Requirements
