About the Role Maxon IT Solutions Inc. is seeking a skilled Cybersecurity Engineer with 4–6 years of experience in information security, threat detection, vulnerability management, and security operations. The ideal candidate will help protect enterprise systems, networks, applications, and sensitive data from cyber threats. Key Responsibilities • Monitor security systems and identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities • Perform vulnerability assessments and support penetration testing activities • Investigate security incidents and assist with incident response and recovery • Monitor security alerts using SIEM tools and investigate suspicious activities • Conduct risk assessments and recommend appropriate security measures • Support identity and access management (IAM), including authentication and authorization • Assist with security audits and compliance requirements • Collaborate with IT and infrastructure teams to strengthen security across systems and networks • Stay updated on emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and security best practices Requirements • 4–6 years of professional experience in cybersecurity or information security • Strong understanding of network security, endpoint security, and system hardening • Hands-on experience with SIEM tools such as Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, or IBM QRadar • Knowledge of vulnerability assessment tools such as Nessus or Qualys • Understanding of firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and security monitoring • Familiarity with incident response, threat analysis, and security investigations • Understanding of security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS Controls • Familiarity with cloud security concepts across AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills Preferred Qualifications • Relevant certifications such as Security+, CEH, CISSP, or CySA+ • Experience with endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions • Knowledge of threat intelligence and security automation • Experience supporting security audits and compliance initiatives
