About the Role We are seeking a Data Center Field Operations Technician to join our team. This role involves hands-on work in data center environments, focusing on installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of data center infrastructure. Key Responsibilities • Perform data center operations and fiber-optic cabling • Conduct rack and stack, rack installation, and hardware deployment • Install and replace switches, optics, and transceivers • Perform break/fix, hot-swap, and preventive maintenance • Conduct fiber testing using OTDR, Optical Power Meter, VFL, and loopbacks • Troubleshoot Layer 1 network issues • Ensure safety compliance with EHS, LOTO, PPE, and ESD standards • Maintain technical documentation and asset tracking Requirements • 2–5 years of experience in data center operations • Ability to lift 50+ lbs • Comfortable working at heights and in data center environments • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods • Must follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements • Experience with fiber and copper cabling – Cat6A, OM4, OS2, MPO/MTP • Experience with fiber testing and network troubleshooting • Knowledge of ticketing systems and asset tracking • Safety compliance – EHS, LOTO, PPE, and ESD
