🔹 Job Title: Senior Data Engineer (IBM DataStage) – Consultant
🔹 Location: Orlando, FL (Hybrid – 3 Days Onsite)
🔹 Type: Contract (Opportunity for Extension)
Deliver high-performance file-to-table transformations by designing reliable, auditable, and scalable ETL pipelines using IBM InfoSphere DataStage and SQL Server.
Key Responsibilities:
* ETL Development: Build end-to-end DataStage jobs (Sequential File, Transformer, Lookup, Join) for CSV and fixed-width file ingestion.
* Data Logic: Execute source-to-target mapping, staging, validation, and downstream publishing.
* SQL Mastery: Write/optimize advanced T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts.
* Operations: Design restartable, parameter-driven jobs with robust logging, audit columns, and reconciliation checks.
* Data Quality: Implement schema validation, referential integrity, and null/duplicate detection.
* Optimization: Perform job tuning (partitioning, buffering) and SQL tuning (indexes, execution plans).
* Collaboration: Monitor executions via DataStage Director and partner with QA/DevOps on releases and runbooks.
Required Skills & Experience:
* Education: Bachelor’s degree in CS, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
* DataStage: Hands-on expertise with IBM InfoSphere DataStage and complex mappings.
* SQL Server: Advanced T-SQL (Window functions, CTEs, Indexing, Execution plans).
* File Handling: Deep knowledge of parsing, encoding, delimiters, and control totals.
* Architecture: Proven ability to design operational, troubleshootable ETL solutions.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Tuning: DataStage Parallel Jobs, data skew handling, and collect/sort tradeoffs.
* Environment: UNIX/Linux shell scripting and job schedulers (Control-M, Autosys).
* Modern Practices: Familiarity with CI/CD, Git, and Warehouse patterns (SCDs, delta loads).
* Governance: Awareness of metadata management, lineage, and secure data handling.
