About the Role We are looking for an experienced FHIR / HL7 Integration Developer to support critical healthcare data interoperability initiatives for the State of Texas. This role focuses on designing secure healthcare interfaces and implementing healthcare data exchange solutions. Key Responsibilities • Design and implement secure healthcare interfaces for critical healthcare data interoperability initiatives • Execute HL7 v2 to FHIR transformations and implement US Core profiles • Integrate cloud-native healthcare data ingestion pipelines • Validate and map healthcare data using SNOMED CT, LOINC, ICD-10, CVX, and RxNorm • Implement role-based access control and secure authentication mechanisms Requirements • 15+ years of hands-on IT software and healthcare integration experience • Prior State Health and Human Services (HHS / Public Health Agency) project experience • Deep expertise in HL7 v2, FHIR (R4), REST APIs, JSON/XML mapping • Strong implementation background with FHIR servers/APIs and Electronic Case Reporting (eICR) Implementation Guides • Experience with modern API and web service engineering using TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, React, and FastAPI • Architecture and ingestion pipeline experience on AWS (HealthLake, S3, Lambda), Snowflake analytics, and IaC (Terraform) • Must reside within a 50-mile radius of Austin, TX • Availability for mandatory in-person final interview in Austin, TX
