About the Role We are looking for an experienced Java Developer to join a client's team for a long-term contract. This role focuses on developing REST APIs using Java Spring Boot and working with cloud technologies. Key Responsibilities • Develop REST APIs using Java Spring Boot, including tooling for documentation (swagger, REST-docs, OpenAI spec), versioning, service discovery/registration, testing and management • Work with cloud technologies, including Microservices architectures • Implement web and API security including authentication, authorization, OAuth, OWASP, OpenID, and SAML • Experience in backend development design and implementation, database (MongoDB, caching) and Kafka messaging • Knowledge and experience using distributed version control systems (git), artifact management systems, build and packaging systems (maven, gradle, npm, antifactory, etc.) and Jenkins or similar Continuous Integration tools • Experience of working in an Agile environment or paired programming/engineering model Requirements • Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot • Experience with REST APIs and API gateways • Knowledge of cloud technologies and Microservices • Experience with databases like MongoDB and messaging systems like Kafka • Familiarity with version control systems, build tools, and CI/CD pipelines • Experience working in Agile environments
