About the Role We are looking for a Java Developer to join our team for a 12-month contract. This role requires 8+ years of experience in Java development and involves working on modern technology architectures. Key Responsibilities • Design and develop reliable, innovative solutions using modern technology architectures • Take ownership of technology platforms and drive modernization initiatives • Contribute to Agile delivery and continuous improvement • Collaborate with business teams to understand requirements and solve business problems Requirements • 8+ years of professional experience in Java development • Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field • Excellent written and verbal communication skills Preferred Skills • Microservices architecture and Spring/Spring Boot • Distributed, real-time, high-availability and performance-critical systems • Multithreading and real-time application development on Unix/Linux • Git, Perforce, CVS, IntelliJ or Eclipse • AWS/Azure cloud technologies and DevOps • Enterprise databases: Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase, DB2 or Snowflake; strong SQL • Unit testing, performance testing, debugging and issue diagnosis • Financial services, trading systems, financial modeling, FIX or SWIFT protocols • Scala and functional programming
