About the Role We are looking for an experienced Java Engineer with strong development skills and a passion for performance engineering. This role focuses on building performance solutions, investigating application bottlenecks, and improving scalability and reliability across distributed systems and cloud environments. Key Responsibilities • Define service-level objectives (SLOs), performance budgets, and latency/throughput targets across services. • Develop automation and performance solutions to identify and resolve bottlenecks across distributed systems. • Analyze application and infrastructure behavior using tracing, profiling, network analysis, and JVM diagnostics. • Review architectures to identify performance risks involving service dependencies, connection pools, caching, and network communication. • Lead root-cause analysis for performance incidents across production and pre-production environments. • Optimize Spring Boot services, container workloads, middleware, databases, and cloud infrastructure. • Develop capacity models and performance baselines for applications running across private cloud and AWS. • Collaborate with development and operations teams to improve application scalability, reliability, and system performance. Requirements • Strong experience in Java development, Spring Boot, and performance engineering for distributed applications. • Expertise in JVM tuning, garbage collection optimization, thread and heap management, and concurrency debugging. • Hands-on experience with performance analysis tools such as Dynatrace, AWS X-Ray, heap/thread dumps, flame graphs, and GC logs. • Experience with Docker, PCF, Kubernetes, ECS, container resource optimization, and hybrid cloud environments. • Strong understanding of networking, load balancers, service mesh, caching, middleware, and storage performance. • Experience tuning Redis, Hazelcast, Kafka, RabbitMQ, NATS, database connection pools, and SQL queries. • Exposure to high-transaction, multi-region platforms in financial services, payments, or enterprise SaaS is preferred.
