About the Role We are seeking a Java Developer for a contract position in Salt Lake, Utah. This role requires local candidates with a strong background in financial services and expertise in cloud-native application development. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and deploy enterprise-scale applications on GCP • Build and enhance microservices using Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, and Pub/Sub • Develop data-intensive solutions leveraging PostgreSQL and BigQuery • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions • Containerize and deploy applications using Docker • Collaborate closely with business, product, and engineering stakeholders within financial services programs • Support cloud modernization and platform transformation initiatives Requirements • 3+ years of hands-on development experience in Java (8/11/17), Spring Boot, Microservices Architecture, GCP, Docker, GitHub Actions, PostgreSQL/Azure SQL, BigQuery, and Python • Experience in designing and developing scalable, cloud-native applications • Strong hands-on understanding of API design, event-driven architecture, and distributed systems • Financial Services experience is mandatory • Hands-on coding and development experience is required • Candidates with very short notice periods (relocating to the work location) will be prioritized Preferred Experience • Exposure to cloud migration and modernization programs • Agile/Scrum delivery experience
