About the Role We are looking for an experienced Kubernetes Lead to drive platform architecture and design for a next-generation enterprise application. This role focuses on building a scalable, secure, resilient, and portable Kubernetes-based architecture for an on-premises/private-cloud environment, reducing dependencies on AWS-native services. Key Responsibilities • Lead Kubernetes platform architecture and design • Assess existing AWS-dependent infrastructure and architectural constraints • Design Kubernetes cluster topology, capacity planning, HA, and disaster recovery • Define Kubernetes networking, ingress, storage, security, and workload deployment patterns • Design multi-cluster, namespace, tenancy, and autoscaling strategies • Establish observability, monitoring, logging, and security standards • Recommend portable alternatives to AWS-native services • Develop architecture diagrams, technical documentation, and reusable reference architectures • Collaborate with cloud architects, DevOps architects, and customer engineering teams Requirements • 5+ years of hands-on Kubernetes experience in production environments • Strong expertise in Kubernetes architecture, networking, storage, security, and scaling • Experience with OpenShift, Tanzu, Rancher, or similar container platforms • Experience designing on-premises/private-cloud Kubernetes platforms • Strong knowledge of Linux, DNS, load balancing, certificates, and infrastructure security • Understanding of AWS-native services and cloud portability • Experience with service meshes, ingress controllers, secrets management, and observability tools • Strong platform architecture and reference architecture documentation skills
