About the Role We are looking for an experienced Lead Java Developer to join a major government modernization project focused on the New York State Integrated Eligibility System (IES). Key Responsibilities • Work on the New York State Integrated Eligibility System (IES), supporting modernization of critical public assistance programs • Develop and maintain Java applications using Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring Security • Implement Microservices Architecture and RESTful APIs • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions • Ensure code quality through rigorous testing and code reviews Requirements • 7+ years of experience in Java/J2EE and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) • 2+ years of experience in a Developer Leadership role • Strong expertise in Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Hibernate/JPA • Extensive experience with Microservices Architecture and RESTful APIs • Strong knowledge of JUnit, Mockito, Maven/Gradle • Experience with AWS/Azure/GCP, Docker, and Kubernetes • Hands-on experience with DevOps, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines • Strong SQL and relational database experience (Oracle/PostgreSQL) along with NoSQL • 2+ years of State/Federal Government project experience • Healthcare & Human Services / Integrated Eligibility System (IES) experience is highly preferred • Active LinkedIn profile with picture • Genuine work authorization documents required • Genuine professional references required • Government forms must be completed
