About the Role We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Application Developer to join the State of North Dakota team. This role involves maintaining and developing enterprise mainframe applications, troubleshooting batch processes, and delivering reliable technical solutions. Key Responsibilities • Maintain and develop enterprise mainframe applications • Troubleshoot batch processes and manage defects • Deliver reliable technical solutions • Author and schedule batch jobs using JCL • Query and analyze data using ADABAS and DB2 Requirements • 5+ years of mainframe development experience in enterprise environments • Proficiency in COBOL for application maintenance and new development • Proficiency in Natural for application maintenance and new development • Strong knowledge of JCL, including batch job authoring and troubleshooting • Experience with ADABAS and DB2, including queries and data analysis • Familiarity with Oracle concepts and SQL tools • Experience using QMF, Visio, or equivalent tools • Strong testing practices and defect management skills • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field Benefits • Opportunity to work in a public-sector environment • Chance to contribute to state government projects
