About the Role Cogency is seeking a Mathematics Expert to contribute to an AI training project focused on advanced mathematical problem-solving, computational mathematics, numerical methods, and Python-based workflows. Key Responsibilities • Solve and validate advanced mathematical and computational problems • Translate mathematical requirements into precise, executable workflows • Implement mathematical equations and algorithms using Python and command-line tools • Automate calculations, numerical experiments, parameter sweeps, and result validation • Test edge cases and ensure mathematical and numerical accuracy Requirements • MSc. or PhD in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Computational Science, Theoretical Computer Science, or a related quantitative field • OR Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or a related quantitative field, plus 1–2 years of mathematics-focused professional or research experience Relevant Areas of Expertise • Applied Mathematics & Numerical Analysis • Optimization & Mathematical Modeling • Probability & Statistics • Discrete Mathematics, Algebra & Geometry • Dynamical Systems • Computational Mathematics Preferred Technical Skills • Experience with Python and scientific computing tools such as NumPy, SciPy & SymPy • pandas & Matplotlib • CVXPY & statsmodels • SageMath, GNU Octave & Julia • Jupyter, numerical solvers & optimization libraries • Experience with equivalent command-line-accessible mathematical tools
