About the Role We are seeking a Mobile Apps Engineer to join our team for a 3-month contract with potential extensions. This role involves helping Tractor Supply evolve its mobile platform to support personalized, intelligent, and AI-enabled customer experiences. Key Responsibilities • Design and implement RESTful APIs, BFFs, microservices, and API-driven solutions • Lead technical reviews, architecture discussions, and knowledge-sharing sessions • Partner with Data Science and other technology teams to integrate AI-powered and intelligent customer experiences into the mobile application • Evaluate new technologies and development practices that can improve customer experience and engineering productivity • Establish scalable patterns for integrating AI-driven services while maintaining security, privacy, performance, and reliability Requirements • 8+ years writing presentation layer code for a responsive, high traffic, consumer facing website • 6+ years of Responsive Web Design, JavaScript, JQuery, and CSS • 5+ years of working experience with React JS and 3 years of Node JS and GraphQL • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field • 8+ years of total software development experience, with at least 3–5 years focused specifically on mobile app development (iOS/Android) and 2+ years in a lead or mentorship capacity • Proficiency in native development (Swift/Objective-C for iOS, Kotlin/Java for Android) or modern cross-platform frameworks (Flutter, React Native, or Capacitor) • Strong command of mobile design patterns (MVC, MVVM, Clean Architecture) and enterprise concerns like offline caching, concurrency, and security • Hands-on experience with Git, Xcode, Android Studio, CI/CD automation tools, and automated testing frameworks (XCTest, JUnit, Jest)
