About the Role We are seeking a Network Security Engineer to join our team in Foster City, CA. This is a 6-month contract-to-hire position focused on administering and maintaining enterprise network security systems. Key Responsibilities • Administer and maintain Enterprise Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW) / UTM platforms • Manage firewall policies, rule reviews, software updates, signature updates, and certificate renewals • Support URL filtering, DNS filtering, Layer-7 inspection, TLS/SSL decryption, and application control • Tune and manage IDS/IPS signatures, reduce false positives, and escalate security incidents • Implement and support 802.1X Network Access Control (NAC) for wired and wireless environments • Support remote access VPN infrastructure, troubleshooting, monitoring, and policy management • Maintain network security documentation, diagrams, runbooks, and operational procedures • Execute network segmentation, NAC expansion, and SSL decryption enforcement projects • Work within formal change management processes and production support environments Requirements • 5+ years of Network Security Engineering experience • 5+ years of IT Systems/Application Administration experience • Strong knowledge of all OSI model layers • Hands-on experience with NGFW / UTM Platforms, Layer-7 Security Controls, IPS / IDS, URL & DNS Filtering, TLS Inspection, Enterprise VPN • Experience supporting 802.1X Authentication, Network Access Control (NAC), Enterprise Security Operations • Strong documentation and stakeholder communication skills
