About the Role GAO Group & Aperturn Venture Studio are looking for recent PhDs and early-career researchers for a paid Postdoctoral Researcher position focused on AI and IoT. This role involves conducting applied research in IoT systems, intelligent connected devices, edge computing, sensing, and AI-enabled systems. Key Responsibilities • Conduct applied research in AI and IoT • Research emerging IoT technologies, architectures and applications • Develop IoT prototypes and proof-of-concept systems • Work with sensors, connected devices, gateways and edge/cloud platforms • Explore AI/ML applications for IoT-generated data • Contribute to research papers and technical reports • Explore technology development and commercialization opportunities • Collaborate with researchers, engineers and industry professionals Requirements • PhD or final-year PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, IoT, Robotics, AI/ML, Embedded Systems or a related STEM field • Strong IoT expertise and working knowledge of AI • Experience with Python, C/C++, embedded systems, sensors, wireless communications, IoT platforms, edge/cloud computing, computer vision, digital twins or robotics Benefits • Applied research in IoT and AI • Real-world prototypes and technology applications • Exposure to AI, IoT, sensing, edge computing and Physical AI • Research publications and intellectual property opportunities • Collaboration with researchers, engineers and industry professionals • Technology development and commercialization exposure
