About the Role We are seeking a Principal Java Developer/AI Engineer to join our team. This role involves designing and developing AI-powered solutions for processing complex credit agreements and integrating AI capabilities into production applications. Key Responsibilities • Design and develop AI-powered solutions that can process complex credit agreements, extract financial terms, and understand underlying business processes. • Leverage LLMs and AI coding agents such as Codex or Claude throughout the software development lifecycle. • Build and maintain applications across the technology stack, including Java and Python backend services and React-based frontend applications. • Integrate LLM capabilities into production applications and contribute to AI orchestration, prompt engineering, document processing, and AI Agent development. • Design and implement REST APIs and event-driven services using technologies such as Kafka. • Take ownership of technical components from discovery and rapid prototyping through development, testing, deployment, and ongoing production support. • Work with technologies including Snowflake and distributed data systems to support AI-powered applications and financial workflows. • Partner with product, engineering, operations, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions. Requirements • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with a demonstrated track record of delivering production applications. • Strong hands-on experience with AI-assisted software development, including the use of AI coding agents. • Experience developing applications that integrate LLMs and/or AI Agents into software solutions. • Strong proficiency in Java, Python, and React. • Experience building and integrating REST APIs. • Experience with Kafka and event-driven architecture. • Experience working with Snowflake or comparable data platforms. • Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, distributed systems, architecture, and problem solving. • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
