Senior Data Engineer

DelonJobs is seeking to hire a Senior Data Engineer for a leading insurance company in Lagos, Nigeria. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and maintaining data pipelines (ETL/ELT) and models for a multi-tenant, cloud-native insurance platform. He/she will ensure that each tenant’s data remains secure and logically partitioned, while enabling compliance with relevant regulations. Interested candidates should possess a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, or an IT related field, with at least 5 years of enterprise data engineering experience, ideally building multi-tenant or highly complex data solutions. Data Modeling & Partitioning: Design logical and physical models to accommodate multiple tenants, ensuring scalability and data isolation. Integration & APIs: Collaborate with backend developers to structure data flows for real-time dashboards and advanced analytics (AI/ML). Data Security & Compliance: Implement encryption, RBAC for data access, and auditing mechanisms aligned with NDPR and NIST guidelines. Performance Optimization: Continuously refine queries, indexes, and storage strategies for optimal response times across large datasets. Requirements Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, or related field. Strong knowledge of Azure data services and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, ARM templates) is beneficial. Possess a minimum of 5 years of enterprise data engineering experience, ideally building multi-tenant or highly complex data solutions. Proficiency with Postgres, MongoDB, and scripting languages (Python, Node.js). Other Skills & Competencies Ability to translate business logic into scalable data architectures. ▪ Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment with CI/CD pipelines. Team player with excellent communication skills for on-site collaboration. ▪ Familiarity with IFRS 17 data structures or financial systems is a plus. Strong dedication to providing timely support and ensuring user satisfaction. Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills. Skilled at collaborating on-site with cross-functional teams (Front-End, Backend, QA, AI/ML).
