About the Role We are looking for a Senior dbt Engineer to join our team. This role focuses on building and maintaining data transformation pipelines using dbt. Key Responsibilities • Design and implement dbt models, snapshots, seeds, tests, macros, and incremental models • Optimize SQL queries and dbt transformations for performance • Develop and maintain dimensional data models using Star Schema and Snowflake Schema • Implement data quality testing and custom validations • Integrate dbt with orchestration tools like Airflow or Dagster • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows Requirements • 7+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, or Data Warehousing • Strong hands-on experience with dbt Core / dbt Cloud • Expertise in dbt models, snapshots, seeds, tests, macros, Jinja, and incremental models • Advanced SQL skills, including complex joins, CTEs, window functions, query optimization, and performance tuning • Strong experience with at least one cloud data warehouse: Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or Amazon Redshift • Hands-on experience with dimensional data modeling, Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, SCD Type 1 & 2, and ELT architecture • Experience with Python scripting for data processing, automation, and pipeline development • Knowledge of data quality testing, custom validations, data lineage, documentation, and data integrity • Experience with Git, GitHub/GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment workflows • Experience integrating dbt with Airflow, Dagster, or equivalent orchestration tools • Strong experience optimizing dbt transformations, SQL queries, and large-scale datasets
