About the Role We are looking for a hands-on Senior Kubernetes Platform Engineer to design, automate, and secure enterprise Kubernetes platforms across AWS, Azure, and hybrid cloud environments for Amtrak. Key Responsibilities • Architect and manage enterprise Kubernetes platforms on AWS EKS and Azure AKS • Implement and administer GitHub Actions Runner Controller (ARC) for enterprise CI/CD • Design ArgoCD-based GitOps workflows, including multi-cluster deployments and progressive delivery (canary, blue-green) • Enforce Kubernetes security with RBAC, Network Policies, Pod Security Standards, and policy-as-code (Kyverno/OPA Gatekeeper) • Build reusable Terraform modules and self-service “golden paths” for developers • Drive reliability through SLOs, observability, incident response, and DR planning Requirements • Bachelor’s degree • 7+ years in DevOps or Platform Engineering • 5+ years of hands-on Kubernetes engineering • Production experience with AWS EKS and Azure AKS • Hands-on experience with GitHub ARC and ArgoCD (critical) • Strong Terraform and multi-cloud infrastructure skills • Solid DevSecOps, secrets management, and hardened container image practices • Strong technical leadership and cross-functional collaboration
