About the Role We are looking for a Senior Python Developer to join our team for a 12+ month contract. This role focuses on building scalable backend systems and involves working with enterprise-approved AI coding tools. Key Responsibilities • Design and implement RESTful APIs using Python • Develop and maintain backend systems with FastAPI/Flask • Work with React and TypeScript for frontend development • Implement and manage SQL databases, schema design, and migrations • Utilize AWS services including Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, Aurora, S3, IAM, and CloudWatch • Implement CI/CD pipelines, Git, pull requests, and code reviews • Conduct unit, integration, API, regression, and E2E testing • Handle DevOps tasks including deployment, monitoring, and rollback • Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation • Ensure API security with OAuth, OIDC, JWT, RBAC, and secrets management • Implement logging, metrics, tracing, and provide production support Requirements • 15+ years of professional software development experience • Strong Python backend and React/TypeScript frontend expertise • Hands-on AWS cloud development and deployment experience • Strong database design, SQL optimization, and data integrity skills • Excellent communication and technical documentation skills • Production ownership, troubleshooting, and secure coding practices • Experience in regulated environments is a plus • Insurance, Annuity, or Policy Administration experience is preferred • U.S. client-facing experience with Eastern Time overlap is a plus
