About the Role
We are seeking a Wi-Fi Subject Matter Expert to join our team, focusing on Wi-Fi Connectivity and EasyMesh/HLOS technologies. This is a 6+ month contract role that requires deep expertise in Wi-Fi standards and development.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead end-to-end EasyMesh development within the RDK-B framework, covering architecture, implementation, interoperability, and operator deployment
• Represent the organization as an active member of the RDKB EasyMesh working group, collaborating with industry stakeholders to commercialize RDKB EasyMesh solutions
• Drive WFA (Wi-Fi Alliance) EasyMesh certification programs — owning test planning, execution, and resolution of certification failures
• Lead interoperability efforts with third-party EasyMesh controllers and validate against operator-specific deployment requirements
• Manage operator adoption processes — engaging directly with cable and broadband operators on feature requirements, field issues, and roadmap alignment
• Define and enforce engineering best practices, code quality standards, and CI/CD processes across the team
Requirements
• Deep expertise in IEEE 802.11 standards: 802.11a/b/g/n (Wi-Fi 4), 802.11ac (Wi-Fi 5), 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6/6E), 802.11be (Wi-Fi 7), WFA specification (Easymesh)
• Hands-on proficiency in Wi-Fi user-space tools and modules: wpa_supplicant, hostapd, iw, nl80211
• Strong Linux kernel knowledge — Wi-Fi driver development, cfg80211/nl80211 architecture
• Proficiency in C and C++; working knowledge of Python and Java
• Experience in RDKB platform is preferable
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DHCP, 802.1X/EAP authentication, and network diagnostics tools (Wireshark, tcpdump)
• Experience with WFA certification tooling: sigma-dut, QuickTrack, testbed configuration, wireshark etc.
• Proficiency with version control systems: git (primary), Perforce, SVN
• Familiarity with project tracking tools: Jira, Buganizer
• Bachelors or Master’s degree
• 7+ years specifically in the Wi-Fi domain
• Demonstrated track record of WFA certification program participation — Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi 7, or EasyMesh certification experience strongly preferred
