About the Role We are seeking an experienced z/OS Systems Lead to support a long-term contract with the State of Alabama. This leadership role combines hands-on mainframe systems programming with technical team management and data center operations oversight. Key Responsibilities • Lead a team of system programmers and engineers • Provide technical expertise across z/OS environments, network infrastructure, disaster recovery planning, capacity management, and overall data center operations • Balance strategic leadership with technical execution, performance management, DR planning, and customer-facing program support Requirements • 5+ years of hands-on z/OS Systems Programming experience • Experience installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting z/OS mainframe environments • 5+ years in a technical lead, project lead, or management role • Strong experience diagnosing and resolving complex system software and/or network issues Nice to Have • Data center operations and infrastructure support experience • Managed services or outsourced data center environment experience • Strong enterprise mainframe background • Installing, maintaining, and configuring z/OS software and subsystems • 24x7x365 production environment experience • Disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution • Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract experience • Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio)
