Job Title: Senior Technical Writer Location: Chandler, AZ or San Jose, CA (Onsite) Duration: Full-Time, Permanent 📌 Overview We are seeking a seasoned Senior Technical Writer to join our team and lead the creation of high-quality, user-centric technical documentation. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong writing skills, technical aptitude, and leadership capabilities. The ideal candidate will operate independently and take ownership of documentation projects, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to support product development and user enablement. 🔧 Key Responsibilities Content Creation & Management Develop comprehensive documentation including user manuals, API guides, integration guides, installation instructions, and technical specifications. Create user-facing content such as UI text, release notes, and in-product help. Manage the full documentation lifecycle: planning, writing, reviewing, publishing, and maintaining content. Translate complex technical concepts into clear, accessible language for diverse audiences. Integrate visual aids (screenshots, diagrams, flowcharts, videos) to enhance clarity and usability. Lead end-to-end documentation projects, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables. Collaboration & Leadership Partner with SMEs, engineers, product managers, and QA teams to gather and validate technical information. Act as documentation lead for assigned product areas, mentoring junior writers and providing editorial guidance. Drive improvements in documentation processes, including style guide development and workflow optimization. Collect and apply user feedback to refine documentation and improve user experience. 🎓 Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, English, Computer Science, or a related field. Minimum 5 years of experience in technical writing, preferably in software, hardware, SaaS, or regulated industries. Strong portfolio showcasing a range of documentation types and writing styles. Technical Skills Proficiency in authoring tools such as Adobe FrameMaker, MadCap Flare, CMS platforms, and Git/GitHub. Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and scripting languages for API documentation. Experience working in Agile or fast-paced development environments. Ability to quickly grasp complex technical systems and translate them into user-friendly content. Soft Skills Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
