Yakan (Samalnon) Freelance Translator (Remote)

We are seeking a highly skilled and culturally competent Yakan (Samalnon) Language Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide professional translation and/or edit services between Yakan (Samalnon) and English, ensuring linguistic accuracy and cultural relevance. This role supports clients in a variety of industries, including healthcare, legal, social services, and government sectors. Key Responsibilities: Accurately translate written content from Yakan (Samalnon) to English and vice versa. Maintain confidentiality and neutrality in all translation assignments. Review and edit translations for accuracy, grammar, and style as needed. Collaborate with project managers and fellow linguists to meet deadlines and quality standards. Keep up to date with language trends, terminology, and cultural developments. Required Qualifications: Fluency in Yakan (Samalnon) and English (spoken and written). Proven experience as a translator (minimum 1–2 years preferred). Strong understanding of Yakan (Samalnon) grammar, syntax, and regional dialects. Familiarity with terminology in one or more of the following sectors: legal, medical, technical, or social services. Certification or accreditation is a plus.
