We’re Hiring: Life Support Systems Technician

📌 Position Details Department/Division: Technologies and Special Projects Restoration Initiative Job Title: Life Support Systems Technician Job Category: Technical (D) Grade Code: N5/N6 Reports to: Life Support Systems Specialist

📌 Position Summary The LSS Technician will: Support operations of all LSS systems at Primary and Development Nurseries. Ensure smooth installation, commissioning, and operational readiness of systems. Assist in achieving the commissioning milestones for the Primary Nursery.

📌 Scope of Work Work closely with the LSS Specialist team to deliver the Primary Nursery Operational Readiness Programme on time. Oversee daily operations at both Primary and Development Nurseries. Ensure all daily checks and Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) are completed on LSS systems. Maintain accurate records and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Support and coordinate with LSS service providers. Attend meetings as required. Follow all HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) procedures, promptly report incidents/near misses, and actively contribute to safety initiatives.

📌 Competencies Ability to work in a fast-paced, diverse team environment while progressing independently on assigned tasks. Strong attention to detail and meticulous task execution. Excellent English written and verbal communication skills. Strong problem-solving and time management skills. Ability to adapt quickly to change and meet deadlines under pressure. Knowledge of Microsoft Teams and full proficiency in MS Office applications. Solid understanding of Aquatic Life Support Systems design and operations. Knowledge of coral husbandry (advantageous). Middle East work experience (essential). Initiative to take on assignments with minimal supervision. Strong teamwork and collaboration skills. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Analytical and problem-solving skills. Arabic translation skills are a plus but not required.

📌 Qualifications Associate degree in an Engineering specialty (Electrical, Control Systems, Process, or Water Technology) is an advantage.

📌 Experience Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience with Aquarium/Aquaculture equipment and Life Support Systems in large-scale projects.
