German Translator/Subtitler (min. 8 hours per week)
Cinemien is growing—including in Germany. We’re looking for a German subtitler (DE) to deliver high-quality subtitles for our feature films, documentaries, and series. You’ll work remotely with our subtitling coordinator, who aligns planning and assignments.
What you’ll do - Subtitle and translate (inter)national film and series titles; - Perform corrections, timecoding/spotting, and light QC; - Collaborate with the coordinator and follow timing/style guidelines; - Use AI subtitling software where appropriate to support the workflow.
What you bring - A completed or near-completed language-focused Bachelor’s/Master’s degree; - Subtitling experience is a strong plus (timecoding, spotting, QC) but not required; - Availability of at least 8 hours per week (on average 8–16 hrs/week, depending on volume); - A keen eye for detail: punctuation and consistency are second nature to you; - Clear communication in Dutch or English; - Affinity with the Cinemien catalogue (arthouse/independent) is a bonus; - A reliable PC/laptop and stable internet connection.
What we offer - A flexible (part-time) role/assignment on a zero-hours/freelance contract for a fixed term, with the option to work fully from home and set your own hours; - Clear briefings and weekly alignment with the subtitling coordinator; - Access to professional tools, including AI support, and a thorough QC process.
