We are hiring: Technical Translator (Chinese / English / Russian) aliya.abbasova@ires.az

An international industrial project is seeking a highly skilled Technical Translator with strong expertise in engineering and metallurgical terminology to support large-scale DRI / HBI projects. This role is critical for ensuring accurate technical communication across all project phases — from design and documentation to construction, commissioning, and on-site technical discussions.

Key responsibilities: • Translate complex technical documentation (PFDs, P&IDs, engineering drawings, specifications, manuals, contracts, reports) between Chinese, English, and Russian • Ensure accuracy of specialized terminology related to DRI / HBI processes and engineering systems • Provide simultaneous and consecutive interpretation during project meetings, workshops, and technical discussions • Support on-site translation during construction, commissioning, and training activities • Develop and maintain technical glossaries to ensure terminology consistency • Work closely with engineering and project teams while maintaining strict confidentiality • Manage translation priorities in line with project deadlines

Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Linguistics, or Engineering (technical background is a strong advantage) • Minimum 3+ years of experience as a Technical Translator in heavy industry, oil & gas, or metallurgical projects • Fluent Chinese (Mandarin), English, and Russian — written and verbal • Proven experience in technical translation and interpretation • Strong understanding of engineering design and industrial processes (DRI / HBI is mandatory) • High attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to work under pressure • Experience with CAT tools is an advantage
