About the Role

Appian is seeking a Director of Business Operations to drive high-priority strategic and operational initiatives across the company. This role sits at the intersection of operations, analytics, finance, and product management, working closely with executive leadership to solve complex business problems.

Key Responsibilities

→Provide strategic decision support by leveraging data-driven insights and business intelligence
→Analyze pricing and adoption trends to recommend changes to pricing policy
→Build and drive the company’s operating system by developing resource utilization plans
→Lead cross-functional initiatives requiring alignment across Product, Marketing, People, Sales, and Customer Experience
→Apply strategy and operations experience to uncover and drive operational improvements
→Stay abreast of external trends and best practices to implement forward-looking strategies
→Partner with collaborators to scope and implement operational improvements
→Communicate complex analytical findings to non-technical audiences

Requirements

✓Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
✓10+ years of experience in investment banking, management consulting, private equity, corporate planning, or business finance/analytics
✓Ability to distill complex issues into structured frameworks and action plans
✓Strong analytical expertise with experience building integrated models
✓Proficiency in SQL, advanced Excel/Google Slides
✓Experience with scripting languages (Python or R) is a plus
✓Proven track record of building relationships across all levels
✓Bias for action with comfort working in ambiguous environments
