About the Role
Applaudo is seeking a senior-level Full-Stack Engineer with a strong backend focus to join their team. This role involves taking ownership of complex, distributed systems and making architectural decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- →Design, build, and maintain backend microservices using Java and Ruby
- →Define service boundaries, API contracts, and integration patterns
- →Design and evolve MySQL data models for growing data volumes
- →Implement event-driven workflows for asynchronous processing
- →Improve AWS infrastructure including compute, messaging, and storage
- →Drive improvements to Docker and Kubernetes environments
- →Contribute to CI/CD pipelines for reliable delivery
- →Build and maintain frontend features using React
- →Provide technical leadership through code reviews and mentoring
- →Lead initiatives to reduce technical debt and improve system reliability
Requirements
- ✓Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- ✓8+ years of professional experience as a Full-Stack Engineer
- ✓Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot
- ✓Experience with Ruby on Rails and/or React
- ✓Proven experience with AWS microservices
- ✓Understanding of cloud-native architectures
- ✓Experience with relational databases, particularly MySQL
- ✓Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- ✓CI/CD pipeline experience
- ✓Ability to mentor engineers and participate in technical decisions
- ✓Pragmatic mindset balancing delivery speed and quality
