About the Role

Archer is seeking a Hardware/Software Integration Engineer to join their team developing all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft. This role involves owning integration of hardware and software for Archer’s high voltage battery management system (BMS) throughout the product development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

→Work closely with hardware engineers and software developers to bring up new features in the lab
→Translate schematics and datasheets into pseudocode, timing diagrams, and interface specifications
→Set up equipment and instrumentation in the lab as needed
→Troubleshoot and resolve hardware-software issues cross-functionally
→Support critical battery pack tests with battery test and mechanical teams
→Develop automated fault injection tests and fixtures for safety-critical diagnostics
→Consolidate design feedback to inform subsequent versions of the BMS hardware

Requirements

✓Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
✓Understanding of interactions between hardware and firmware drivers
✓Knowledge of schematic design and PCB layout
✓Familiarity with lab equipment such as oscilloscope, logic analyzer, soldering tools, and crimp tools
✓Familiarity with microcontroller peripheral interfaces including SPI, CAN, and UART
✓Proficiency in scripting languages like Python
✓Experience with requirement management tools
✓Excellent organization and communication skills
✓Collaborative mindset and willingness to support where needed
✓Passion for learning and problem solving
