About the Role
We are looking for a Software Engineer to join Astro Mechanica, a vertically integrated aerospace company focused on supersonic travel. This role involves building robust engineering tools that directly impact hardware design at the intersection of software and mechanical engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- →Develop and maintain Python-based stress analysis templates, including composite plate buckling and classical laminate theory
- →Create and own a scalable loads database system for stress analysts and design teams
- →Implement aeroelastic solution sequences for a custom-built loads analysis tool
- →Build reusable libraries for multidisciplinary design optimization workflows
- →Partner with mechanical and aerospace engineers to translate analysis methods into production-quality software
- →Improve performance, reliability, and automation of internal engineering toolchains
- →Build flight dynamics simulation tools and develop interfaces for analysts
Requirements
- ✓5+ years of experience in software engineering or related field
- ✓Substantial experience in Python, including engineering or scientific computing tools
- ✓Familiarity with Fortran is a plus
- ✓Background in mechanical or aerospace engineering
- ✓Ambition to work in a fast-paced environment
