About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join Aurora’s HIL Platform team, responsible for building the simulation environment for autonomous vehicles. This role involves tackling complex systems-level challenges that directly impact the deployment of autonomous Class 8 trucks.
Key Responsibilities
- →Architect and develop core HIL software, designing high-performance, real-time interfaces and drivers.
- →Build scalable tooling, APIs, and cloud integration for automation frameworks.
- →Lead technical design reviews, evaluating trade-offs in system architecture and ensuring platform stability.
- →Optimize system performance by debugging low-level integration issues.
- →Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and documentation.
Requirements
- ✓5+ years of experience building complex, low-latency systems or high-scale infrastructure products.
- ✓Expert-level proficiency in Modern C++ (14/17/20) with deep understanding of memory management and multi-threading.
- ✓Strong experience with Python or Golang for automation pipelines and data processing.
- ✓Proven track record of developing software that interacts with physical devices and hardware peripherals.
- ✓Expert knowledge of the Linux environment, including kernel-space/user-space communication and system-level troubleshooting.
- ✓Experience managing cloud infrastructure and observability tools.
