About the Role
We are looking for an AI Gameplay Programmer to join Avalanche Studios Group and work on theHunter: Call of the Wild. This role involves creating complex and realistic animal AI behavior, working closely with designers, animators, and other programmers.
Key Responsibilities
- →Work with designers, animators, and gameplay programmers to realize complex animal AI behavior
- →Design and implement animal behavior using and extending existing tools for behavior trees and navigation
- →Implement game systems related to spawning, pathfinding, decision-making, group movement, and locomotion
- →Translate high-level design ideas into practical solutions
Requirements
- ✓At least 3 years of industry experience, preferably on bespoke game engines
- ✓Experience with different AI architectures and techniques, including behavior trees and pathfinding
- ✓Ability to write readable, robust, and performant code in C++
- ✓Experience with animation state machines, animation blending, IK, and similar techniques
- ✓Understanding of all aspects of game programming in multiplayer games
- ✓Prior experience as a programmer on at least one shipped title on current or previous generation consoles
- ✓Prior experience with Havok AI / Havok Navigation is a plus
- ✓Strong communication and verbal skills in English
