About the Role
We are looking for a Backend Engineer to join Block's Growth organization. This role focuses on building and scaling backend services that power Square's software monetization engine.
Key Responsibilities
- →Build core platform components for the SaaS Platform that powers monetization across Square
- →Design and evolve subscription management and billing systems
- →Collaborate with Web and Mobile teams to drive SaaS adoption and conversion
- →Operate across multiple services, including a tier 0 service
- →Contribute to operational excellence and champion reliability initiatives
- →Advocate for automation that increases developer velocity
Requirements
- ✓5+ years of relevant industry experience and a Bachelor's degree
- ✓Hands-on experience building products or services in the cloud
- ✓Track record of building testable, maintainable software
- ✓Strong sense of customer empathy
- ✓Ability to dive into unknown domains and tech stacks
- ✓Technologies Used
- ✓Backend and Application Frameworks: Ruby on Rails, Java
- ✓Async Processing and Caching: Sidekiq, Redis
